Privacy Policy
TAIL follows FOMO's traders from the trading sites you already use. On a token's page it shows which FOMO traders hold that token. It alerts you when the traders you tail buy or sell. Once you're signed in, it copies their trades, or buys with one tap, from your TAIL wallet.
Your TAIL account and wallet
- Sign-in. You sign in at app.tail.family with X, Telegram, Google, email or a crypto wallet, through Privy (privy.io), our sign-in and wallet provider. Privy handles that sign-in under its own privacy policy. From X, TAIL uses only your X username, to show you which account you're signed in with. TAIL's servers keep nothing from X, and TAIL never reads your posts. From Telegram, TAIL keeps only your Telegram user id and username.
- TAIL's Telegram bot. Once Telegram is on your TAIL account and you start TAIL's bot, it messages you about your fills, alerts and deposits. Ask, and it shows your positions, receipts and the traders you tail. It talks only to you, in a private chat. Telegram delivers those messages under its own privacy policy.
- Your TAIL wallets are wallets Privy creates for you. One is on Solana; the other covers Robinhood Chain and BNB Chain. They're owned by you. Their private keys are held by Privy, not by TAIL, and never by the extension. The extension doesn't create, store or use private keys.
- What TAIL's server signs. Nothing, unless you've added TAIL's signer to your wallets (“Let TAIL copy for me”) and your copy mode is Live. In Off or Paper mode, or once you remove the signer, it signs nothing. When it does sign, Privy produces the signature over a transaction TAIL's server has already checked; the key never leaves Privy. TAIL's server is programmed to sign only trades for your own TAIL wallet: copies of the traders you tail, when they buy or sell; your own one-tap buys and closes; the rules you turn on (all off by default): stop loss, take profit, trailing stop, DCA, and converting stablecoins that land in your wallet into SOL, ETH or BNB; rewards (tokens that land in your wallet besides your positions), sold for SOL, ETH or BNB when you tap sell, or automatically if you turn on auto-sell (off by default); retries of a copy sell that failed before anything was sent; and a withdrawal you ask for, which you sign as the wallet's owner in the app while TAIL's server only co-signs (sending over $100 to an address you haven't used also needs a confirmation in the extension, from a browser you registered at least a day earlier). It's programmed never to sign a transfer or withdrawal to another address (every trade pays out to your own TAIL wallet), never to export a key (only you can, in Privy's own window), and never to touch your other wallets.
- What Privy enforces. Privy also enforces a policy on TAIL's signer, whatever TAIL's server asks for. The policy is locked by an owner key kept off TAIL's servers, so a compromised server can't loosen it. It blocks plain transfers to any address but your own, token approvals to anyone but the trading routes, key exports and message signing, and transactions over a per-transaction size limit. It can't fully control where a swap pays out: Jupiter, Relay and Uniswap's Universal Router set a swap's payout inside the swap itself, so TAIL's software, not Privy's policy, keeps those payouts going to your own wallet. The policy makes a stolen signer much less useful. It doesn't make it harmless, so removing TAIL's signer remains the way to stop all signing.
- Network gas. You never hold ETH, BNB or SOL for gas. TAIL buys the gas your trades need and includes it at cost in each trade's Fees; on Robinhood Chain and BNB Chain a buy may add a little of the network's coin to your TAIL wallet to pay for selling later. TAIL may briefly front gas from its own wallet. On Solana, TAIL absorbs the sub-cent network fee, so a Solana trade's Fees is just the 1%. Withdrawing everything converts your balance across chains first: TAIL charges nothing for that conversion, but its slippage is yours, and the amount you'll receive is shown before you confirm. Your wallet stays a plain wallet, and TAIL never asks you to sign messages.
- The link to the extension. After you sign in, the app hands the extension your account id, email, TAIL username and wallet addresses, and a session token. The token is stored in the extension; TAIL's servers keep only a hash of it. Signing out in the extension revokes it.
- Leaderboard (optional). If you choose to join TAIL's leaderboard (one tap, off until you do), it shows your TAIL username (TAIL gives you one like @cobaltheron when you sign up, and you can pick your own), with your PnL in dollars and percent, your win rate, your number of closed copies, and the FOMO traders you copy. Your profile adds those stats for 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days and all time, your best single close as a percentage (no token named), a 30-day PnL line in dollars, and when you joined. It counts only your live copies, net of fees, valued at today's SOL, ETH and BNB prices. It never shows your email, wallet addresses, tokens, positions or sizes. Leave any time in Settings, and you come off the board and your profile page stops being public at once.
Referrals
- Joining with a friend's link. If you sign up from a tail.family/i/<code> link, a shared receipt (tail.family/r/…) or a code you enter within 7 days of signing up, TAIL records who referred you. The first referrer is kept. Until you sign in, the app holds the code in your browser's local storage, then sends it once and clears it. Your TAIL fee is then 0.9% per trade instead of 1%.
- What your referrer sees about you: your TAIL username (never your email or wallet), the date you joined, your trading volume on TAIL, and what they earned from your trades. You'll see your referrer's username. After you sign in, the app shows you this and asks first: nothing is recorded unless you choose "Join with their link", and "Join without" drops the code.
- If you refer people: you earn 0.25% of what they trade, never from their gas. Earnings accrue as you refer, and pay out in USDC into your TAIL balance about every two hours, with nothing to claim. Two conditions: you need a deposit address TAIL has verified, and a payout is skipped while your claimable amount is below that address's minimum — it keeps accruing until it clears. TAIL collects the referral share inside the swap into a TAIL referral wallet, then pays it to your TAIL wallet's deposit address through Relay. Your earnings are shown only to you.
- Rules. No self-referral: no multiple or controlled accounts, and no coordinating to refer yourself. TAIL may void, reverse, claw back or withhold referral rewards it finds abusive, and may change or end the program.
What TAIL's servers keep
TAIL's servers (api.tail.family, hosted by Fly.io in the United States; the app is hosted by Vercel) store:
- your account id, TAIL username, email and wallet addresses;
- your Telegram user id and username, if you sign in with or link Telegram, and whether you've blocked TAIL's bot;
- your settings: the traders you tail, copy mode, copy sizes and limits, and the exit and DCA rules you set;
- hashes of your session tokens;
- a record of your trades: copies, one-tap buys and sells, with the token, amounts, prices, times and transaction ids. It powers your positions, PnL and receipts.
To show your positions and tell rewards from spam, the servers also read your TAIL wallets' token balances and incoming token transfers from the public blockchains.
The hosts also keep standard request logs (IP address, time, the path requested) to operate the service.
What stays on your device
The extension keeps the following in your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage): your tail list and settings, your fomoapi.io key if you add one, the recent trade tape, your receipts, your account's id, email, TAIL username and wallet addresses, and short-lived price caches. Your session token is kept separately, in the extension's own IndexedDB.
What the extension sends, and why
| Service | What is sent | Why |
|---|---|---|
TAIL (api.tail.family) | Your session token; buy requests (chain, token, and one of your preset sizes); sell requests; the token you're about to buy, for a safety check; reads of your balances, positions, receipts and settings; your quick-buy sizes, daily limits and display settings when you change or save them | Your TAIL wallet: balances, PnL, one-tap buys, sells, receipts, and settings shared with the app |
TAIL app (app.tail.family) | Nothing is sent from the extension. It opens the app in a tab, and the app sends the account link back | Sign-in |
fomoapi.io (api.fomoapi.io) | The address of the token you're viewing; your fomoapi key if you added one | The FOMO traders holding it, the leaderboard, and the live trade stream |
DexScreener (api.dexscreener.com) | Token or pair addresses | Price and market cap |
Jupiter (lite-api.jup.ag) | Solana token addresses | A Solana token's name and decimals when DexScreener has none |
GeckoTerminal (api.geckoterminal.com) | Token addresses and a time | Prices and the chart on a receipt |
TAIL (api.tail.family/v1/token/…/icon) | The chain and address of a token | Its logo (TAIL's server fetches and caches it; see below) |
TAIL (api.tail.family/v1/leader/…/avatar) | A trader's public FOMO handle | Their profile picture (TAIL's server fetches and caches it from FOMO) |
| Blockchain nodes (Solana, Robinhood Chain, BNB Chain: the public RPCs, or the Solana RPC you set) | The public wallet addresses of the FOMO traders you tail; transaction ids | Seeing their trades the moment they land on-chain; reading a fill's network fee |
What TAIL's servers send, and why
To make a trade, the servers send the token, the amount and your wallet address to the route that fills it. That's Relay (relay.link) on Robinhood Chain and BNB Chain, Jupiter on Solana, or four.meme's contracts on BNB Chain. The token approvals a sell needs go only to those routes. Stablecoin conversion is optional and off by default. When it's on, it converts stablecoins in your TAIL wallet to SOL, ETH or BNB with a token approval and a swap through Relay or Jupiter, paying out to your own wallet. Privy signs the trade, and the servers broadcast it to the chain. Prices come from DexScreener, GeckoTerminal and CoinGecko, and FOMO trader data comes from fomoapi.io. Token images for the app are fetched by TAIL's server from public market-data sources (Jupiter's token list, DexScreener, GeckoTerminal) with no user data, then served from api.tail.family. Traders' profile pictures are fetched from FOMO the same way. The app and the extension load token images and profile pictures only from there. Blockchain transactions are public: anyone can see a wallet's trades on a block explorer.
Every service above receives your IP address with a web request, or ours for server requests. Each one follows its own privacy policy.
Pages the extension reads
On GMGN, Axiom, Dexscreener and MevX, TAIL reads the page address to know which token you're viewing. It doesn't read page content, form fields, cookies, logins or browsing history, and it doesn't record what you view. If you allow alerts on every site (optional, asked in setup), TAIL shows its alert card on the page you're on. It doesn't read those pages. It never reads fomo.family.
What we don't do
No analytics, no advertising, no sale or sharing of data, no tracking across sites. TAIL isn't affiliated with FOMO.
Your control
- Sign out in the extension's Wallet tab. That revokes the extension's session token.
- Set copying to Off in the app and TAIL's server signs nothing. The traders you tail, your sizes and your rules are there too.
- Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored.
- Block TAIL's bot in Telegram and it stops messaging you.
- To delete your TAIL account and the trade record on our servers, contact us through the support link on the Chrome Web Store listing. We delete it within 30 days. Your wallets and anything in them stay yours, through Privy.
